Outreach and Mission work is important to Covenant Federated Church. We desire to be a worshipping, caring, learning, serving church in Kentland and beyond.

Our journey of mission only begins with our Food Pantry, which serves anyone in the Kentland area. We try to be generous with our gifts of food, hygiene and household items. Peg Rhanor and her committee work continually to serve those in need. The generosity of area churches, businesses, community organizations, and numerous individuals is appreciated.

We are open on the first and third Monday of each month from 8:30 - 11:00am and by special appointment.

Each month 10% of all General Fund offering is donated to outreach. This is over and above our budgeted amount. The following should receive a total of around $8,500:
Food Pantry (twice)
North Central Indiana Rural Crisis Center in Rensselaer
Red Cross
Transient funds
Back/Pack program
Kids Health Program South Newton School
Salvation Army
Week of Compassion/One Great Hour of Sharing
and the general ministries of the PUSA and Disciples of Christ (twice)

As part of the PUSA, we give our full amount of per capita to the Presbytery of Wabash Valley. We do the same for the Christian Church Disciples of Christ. During the year, we take up special offerings for outreach on Easter, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We take up at least two additional offerings, one for One Great Hour of Sharing and Week of Compassion.

Last year we put together school and hygiene kits for Church World Service. The WCA also had their annual blanket drive for CWS.
All these are just a partial list of mission work for us. For example, during the month of April we are asking for infant/toddler food, diapers, wipes, etc. for the Food Pantry.

If you want to be part of a church that truly cares for those here and throughout the world,
please come and join us!
